Art, both in the creating and the collecting, is always about slowing down: learning to see the world in a new way. Slowing down enough to notice an interesting shadow, a new combination of colors, and reflecting on how these new ideas impact you emotionally.
A bit about me—I am a self-taught watercolor artist and successful Etsy seller since 2018, homeschooling mama to 4 boys for the past 14 years, and art teacher, for in person and online art workshops. But that is just the “official” bio…..
I have overcome so much to get to this place, but now that I am here, I can say that I have always been an artist. Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be an artist, starting with my great-grandma showing me how to paint china with layers (called glazes). She showed me how to use different colors on each glaze, resulting in the soft, luminous florals she so loved.
But as I grew up, I assimilated the cultural bias against art: it's only a hobby, of only an elite few ever having the genius or “talent” to become professional “Real Artists”.
Overcoming this bias came through sheer tenacity and personal growth, and a growing realization that art is like any other skill: it can be developed through hard work, persistent and focused practice.
I am here to guide you through this amazing journey, and share with you the things I wish I knew when I began!
ANYONE can be an artist. In fact, you already are one, you just have to uncover it!
No matter whether or not you see yourself as a creative person, or one of those who says “I haven't a creative bone in my body”, there is always room for growth, personal development and learning to see as an artist is going to enrich your life in so many ways!
I’m overwhelmed with gratitude to have you here, my friend. I am thrilled to be getting to know you, and what makes you get up in the morning…what makes you pause and think… what beauty and joy you have to offer the world! You have a gift and I can't wait to see it emerge!
