This is a workshop that has been several months in the making: I will be teaching the planning and design process that I use for building a successful watercolor painting, from sub-par references. This is especially helpful for Plein Air artists, since learning to design, edit and plan before beginning a watercolor painting has made a tremendous difference in the quality of my work. Watercolor has a reputation for being one of the hardest mediums to master, but once you understand how to plan your washes you will be so much happier with your results.
This workshop will be in my home studio, with all supplies provided, including professional grade watercolor paints (my favorite brand is M. Graham), Arches watercolor paper, and brushes (If you want to bring your own brushes, that is fine, too). The sketch will already be drawn on the Arches 156 lb. paper.
The workshop begins at 10 am, with a short break around 11:30am with light refreshments provided, and we are usually done painting around 1:00pm. Space is limited, so sign up today! (when it sells out, you can sign up for a waitlist to be notified of any cancellations. )
